Durand, Edmond (Ed)

Ed Durand, Director, retired (in Australia), Telecommunications, Forum Secretariat, South Pacific Forum, Fiji.

Mr. Durand, as Director of Telecommunications for the Forum Secretariat, made a major policy contribution in the region by encouraging the formation of a telecommunications association that included users and other government ministries in the Pacific. He was also instrumental in ensuring that PEACESAT was on the agendas of important telecommunication policy conferences in the South Pacific.

During his tenure, the Forum Secretariat issued an endorsement of PEACESAT as a means of facilitating public service telecommunications for regional development.

Jahn, William (Bill)

Bill Jahn, Director, Telecommunications Policy for Mexico and Micronesia, U.S. Department of State.

Mr. Jahn has facilitated discussions of PEACESAT at the policy level in the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau. He also served on the Hub Site Evaluation Committee. His keen sense of humor has been very much appreciated by the program.
