KPGO/PMRF Connection to PEACESAT HQ
DESCRIPTION: An interfacility link is being established between the PEACESAT
Hub Site at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and the PEACESAT TT&C
earth station at the Kokee Park Geophysical Observatory (KPGO) and the
Pacific Missile Range Facilities to increase network reliability and
maximize available resources. This will establish a back-up connection
for the Network Hub located at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. PEACESAT
and PMRF entered into a Memorandum of Agreement for shared use of telecommunication
capacity. PMRF donated a 3Mbps link for this project and a pair of dark
single-mode fiber between the ITT Kokee site and the KPGO Hub Site building.
